Bend Before You Break

You are not alone. Learning that we will not have a child or adopt a child can be devastating. We feel broken, less than worthy..we are barely handing on….the wind could snap us in two pieces.

Women in the US have used infertility services.

Years ago I saw a documentary about individuals convinced they had either seen an alien or been abducted by one. The interviewer spent time with people from around the world trying to understand their stories. He met with people from all walks of life who had no possible chance of ever coming in contact with each other. But their stories were all very similar…down to their description of the alien. Each person was asked to draw a picture and the interviewer showed all of them at the end. Yep…..you guessed it…they all looked exactly the same. Now, regardless of your stance on alien abductions…it is an interesting phenomenon that people with nothing in common have something in common.

 

I was surprised at the Gateway-Women retreat a few weeks ago that women from around the United States shared the same feelings about childlessness. I was surprised that we had been walking the same journey but didn’t even know it. Because I am new to blogging I am learning about all of the

People from around the world are reading the blog. And…as most things….it is bitter sweet. I love knowing that there are people around the world who are experiencing the same thing and walking the same journey. But it is sad to know that there are people around the world who are experiencing the same thing and walking the same journey.
